In a hall, the time that counts is the clock on the wall, not the candidate’s own watch. And the scripts are collected when time is called, whatever state they are in.

Your institution sets when the exam can be started. Before or after that window, it does not open.

A few seconds after each change, the answer is saved on our side. A flat battery or a power cut costs seconds, not a paper.

A dropped connection is a pause
If the internet goes, the candidate reconnects within the time your institution allows and carries on exactly where they were, answers intact.

Handed in when time is up
Candidates can mark questions to come back to and check a summary before handing in. When time runs out, whatever they have answered is handed in for them.
